Anxiety and Generalized Anxiety Disorders

Some anxiety and fear is normal. It's part of life. But for many people, normal fears can escalate into persistent, irrational fears that interfere with daily life. For them, constant anxiety and fear become and unbearable burden.

GAD or Generalized Anxiety Disorder
excessive, unrealistic worry that lasts six months or more.

Anxiety disorders are serious and can get progressively worse if left untreated.

Anxiety problems are prevalent in my family. My Mother and some extended family members have been treated with medicine. When my teenage daughter started showing anxiety, and some irrational fears, we decided to have her be treated FIRST with psychotherapy, before medicine, and the talking/ psychotherapy worked for her. She never received medication. Please urge more parents to treat their children with psychotherapy first! Scottsdale, AZ
