As a parent of a 9yr old boy who suffers from anxiety and obsessive thoughts, i have to wonder if early intervention can offset his need for medication in the future. As an adult who suffered from anxiety and obsessive thoughts as a child, I have to wonder if my life today would be different had the disorder been addressed early on. From an educational perspective, repetition essentially makes memory paths. I would imagine that addressing this unproductive thought process early on could make a positive change in the pattern of thinking; at the very least put the breaks on any progression of negative thoughts and fears. I look forward to my son's positive journey.
