Colleges Anxiety Depression

Depression has doubled in colleges over the past fifteen years. Anxiety Disorders has also been on the rise at colleges and Universities through out the US.

College is a time of transition and change. College is a new life style, new friends, new classes, new lovers, new teachers, new environments, new challenges, new stressors….
When a student does not feel he/she has a foundation that provides adequate coping skills the college student can easily become more stressed and depressed and anxious potentially.
Self esteem and a new identity are important elements in the transition to college. At college their is a lack of the same support system around: family, old friends etc.
Counseling and psychotherapy can provide tools to overcome: anxiety, depressed mood, low self esteem, anger and mood issues, stress, relationship problems, academic challenges and more.
