Happy and Healthy Life

Happiness has many elements: healthy relationships, healthy thoughts, positive self esteem, a positive attitude toward self and others and more. Happiness is being grateful for what you have and not comparing yourself to someone else. Happiness is about giving to others in ways that are important to them: listening, taking them for a ride, meeting someone for lunch, playing a board game or cards. Happiness is taking care of your body and mind and here are some ways to do so in the next paragraph.

Physical activity and exercise are vital for health. It not only is good for the organs but for your bones. Exercise is the biggest element in creating a long life. You can take a walk, go to the gym, hike, dance, stretch, lift weights,play basketball, tennis, etc. It is important to break a sweat and perspire this cleans out the system and also releases seratonin and dopamine which are natural feel good chemicals in the brain.

Create a healthy diet which means a lot of vegetables and fruits. Eating out is not great because you do not know what you are getting in your food? You do not know how much sodium? How much fat? How much? etc. Of course it is ok to eat out but less is more….. If you work out three days a week but eat unhealthy foods and large quantities you are simply deluding yourself because you will never lose the weight till you change the caloric intake.

Find a purpose in your work find a passion in your friendships…find things that interest you and excite you. Surround yourself with people that lift your spirits and that are positive and limit criticism and judgment and those that see the glass half empty all the time. Do a self assessment on your thoughts and messages to self this is huge.
