A school district in Philadelphia used web-cams from laptops issued by the school to spy on children according to a federal lawsuit. The web cameras allegedly caught children, teens, families in compromising situations according to the suit.

Students were angry and placed tape over their web cameras and laptop microphones. The school spokesman states ” we can categorically state we are and have always been committed to protecting the privacy of our students”

It is unclear what was caught on the web camera or what dialogue was captured per an associated press article by  maryclaire dale published in Az Republic 2-19-2010.
