Children Birthdays/Celebrations..expensive

Children need love..children need nurturing. A child needs to feel: safe, secure, and stable, and feel a sense of control. A child needs to be listened to without judgment. A child needs affection. A child needs someone he/she can talk to and express his/her feelings in a safe way. A child needs healthy boundaries: physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

A child does not need a 25,000 dollar birthday party. Less is more..Celebrating birth should not be expensive.

If a parent wishes to spend in excess then that is up to the parent, however, the cost of the birthday is not equivalent to the joy and happiness your child will receive. To love and be loved is the most important.

Angry girls Anger girls and Teens

Our society loves violence. Violent video games, boxing, ultimate fighting, internet gore and violence. Violence is worshiped in any unhealthy manner.

What is going on when a group of middle school girls beat up a girl and post it on the internet?

Are we completely desensitized? In many situations the Victim can turn into a victimizer. How could a group of young girls feel it is ok to harm and attack another girl and glorify it by putting it on the web?

Love, nurture, and kindness will breed love. Judgement, anger, and fear will create inappropriate behaviors.. Model kind and loving behavior for your child and family.

College Students Depression and Mental Health

Mental health awareness is important for: students, teachers, parents,( everyone).

Students diagnosed with depression was fifteen percent in 2007. Depression in students is up from 10 percent in the year 2000.

Twenty three percent of students going to campus counseling centers are on psyhiatric medications which is up from 9 percent in 1994.

Legal experts agree that colleges have the right to expect students to get mental health evaluations and treatment if there is a cause and to contact parents.

Students who do not have anyone to talk to are most at risk.

Teen Girls Gang up Beat Teen

Violence, Violence, and more Violence. Teens in Florida lured a girl to a home and beat her up. They had a total of 8 involved and video tapped it all and put it on you tube.

I am disturbed by this behavior. The court system must punish these girls in a very harsh way to set an example. If the juvenile court gives them a slap on the wrist it will encourage more teen violence.

I hope parents can spend some time with their children and teach them healthy communication without violence.

Victimizing girls, teens, adolescents, adults, and children is NOT OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
