We grieve the loss of Lt Eric Shuhandler who was murdered during a
trafffic stop.

Lt Shuhandler was a 16 year veteran and we are all very hurt regarding

The pain and sadness and anger will take time to heal and grief has

Teen Violence Grief and Loss Phoenix Arizona

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

I read a very tragic story about a Phoenix Arizona teenager who was allegedly pushed into traffic and was hit three times by vehicles and passed away.

A family and friends are now grieving the loss of this young boy. We must teach children and teens healthy choices and boundaries.

We must teach teens: compassion, empathy, right from wrong before the system has to do so..

International author Joy Abrams has a book on grief and loss at www.empowementwithjoy.com. She also has books on stress release and CD’s on relaxation and stress management.

Many Americans have ill family members that create chronic stress in their lives due to taking care of their ill family members. It is important to balance time with support vs taking care of ones own health( sleep, diet, free time, etc)

Here are some tips to help stay in balance due to family stress:

1. Meditate daily( diaphramatic breathing)

2. Do Yoga

3. Exercise at least 5 times a week.

4. eat a well balanced diet

5. Visualize a relaxing Scene

6. Communicate in relation to your stress and do not stuff it and keep it in.

7. take time to do things you enjoy weekly.
