In an article written by Martha Moore of USA Today titled 12 percent
in juvenile prisons are sexually victimized,
Justice Dept report says.

The article states that in some of the worst facilities over 30
percent of children reported they were sexually victimized.

The article states that juvenile reports of sexual victimization was
over ten percent involving a staff member.

This study involved over 195 facilities throughout the USA.

Society needs support and treatment so victims do not become
victimizers.
Adults need treatment, families need counseling and support,
children , teens, and adults need support: counseling and
psychotherapy to cope with abuse and pain.

A study by pew research center states that 25 percent of teens text
while driving.

The National Hwy safety Admin states that 5870 people died in due to
being distracted while driving and there were 515,000 accidents due to
being distracted .

A group of adolescents made a bad choice and were arrested for felony
burglary in Peoria Az.

The officer states they were trespassing on school property and
damaged a door.

The teens state they were promoting their band , however, police did
not de it way.

There are ways to promote and market yourself without going on school
property at 2am …

Teens and adults make unhealthy choices and it is important to learn
healthy behaviors and consequences for unhealthy choices.

A seventeen year old Tempe Union high school student brought a firearm
to school this week.

The student faces one felony and two misdemeanor charges according to
Ahwatukee foothills police.

Research shows that driving while talking on a cell phone is as risky
as driving with a .08 blood alcohol level.

The risks associated with texting while driving is considered double
the risk as driving with a cell or driving with a .08 blood alcohol
level

Children and teens are sending nude photos to peers or racy pictures to friends at school.

If the photo is that of a minor ( under 18 years old) it legally is considered child pornography. Charges filed can be for lewd and lascivious conduct and diseminating indecent materials to a minor.

Most states classify the above behavior as a felony and children and teens throughout the US in Arizona, California, Texas, etc have charged children and teens with felonys for passing up( emailing these photos)

Children and teens must be taught about the consequences of sexting since sexting is a behavior on the rise that is very common today. It is essential to teach children consequences for behaviors and we can implement consistent consequences to help eliminate unhealthy behaviors.

The San Diego student was arrested after setting off 5 bottle bombs at his school. No one was hurt, however, the potential for danger was great.

High School Teen Unhealthy Behavior

A high school teen who had a full ride scholarship to University and maintained a 4.2GPA academically through it all away. This teen lives in SanDiego California and attended High Schhol South Of Chula Vista CA.

The teenager made a very poor choice and brought 5 bottle bombs to school. The teen was arrested and charged with felonies. The teenager also lost out on a full ride scholarship that potentially was worth over 125,000 dollars.

Adolescents and teens are becoming young adults and must make healthy life choices in order to have healthy lives.

This article is very powerful because there are many teenagers who are exceling academically and have great GPA’s and play sports at high school or are involved on the cheerleading squad, drama club and other organizations, however, their behavior is extremely dangerous and unhealthy: drugs, alcohol, prescription pills, violence, anger, risky behaviors, addictive behaviors, poor boundaries, unhealthy choices, anxiety, low self esteem, poor interpersonal skills and more..

Teen Animal Cruelty

AP NEWS “NEW YORK – A 14-year-old has pleaded guilty to burglary and animal cruelty for killing a kitten in a 500-degree oven.

The New York City Law Department says the girl will spend 18 months in juvenile jail for the May 6 death of the kitten, named Tiger Lily.

Authorities say she and a friend ransacked a Bronx apartment before putting the animal in the oven, where it cried and scratched before dying.

The friend, 17-year-old Cheyenne Cherry, pleaded guilty last month to animal cruelty and attempted burglary. She is expected to get a year in jail when she’s sentenced on Sep 2.”

This is a very sad story.
