The association between screen time and mental health is important for parents to recognize since many children and teens are on their screens 8 hours a day. The more screen time the more distractible your child will be as well as more likely he or she will have depression, anxiety, or another mental health disorder according to research in 2019. The research shows your child or teen will have less friends and less social interactions and social activities has a very high correlation with adult happiness.

Youth that spend more time on screens instead of face to face in person activities or reading or playing sports are much less happy than those children and teens that do not spend so much time on screens( tv, smartphones, I pad, Game boy, Video Games, xbox, internet, netflix, disney plus, prime etc)

There are many activities a child or teen can do that do not involve electronic screens: legos, board games, chess, cards, uno, puzzles, sports, basketball, hiking, biking, walking, running, dancing, drawing, reading books, and so much more)
