Meditation can reduce anxiety. Researchers have know this for years . The specific brain mechanism connected to reducing the anxiety has not been pin pointed . However studies show that certain areas or regions of the brain are activated or deactivated in relationship to relief from anxiety .

In one study anxiety was reduced by almost 40 percent . A study revealed that anxiety relief is associated with activation of the anterior cingulate cortex and ventromedial prefrontal cortex , areas of the brain that are involved in executive – level functioning.

During meditation their was more action in the v p c the area of the brain that controls worrying . Also noted in the study was that present findings reveal that the brain regions associated with meditation related anxiety relief are remarkably consistent with the concept of being mindful.

Research has shown meditation can be helpful with depression and anxiety disorders .

Anxiety disorders that impact over forty million Americans are the most common psychiatric mental health disorder in the USA. Exercise is a great tool for relief of stress and is also important to help manage anxiety as well as depression and other health disorders .

Researchers studying anxiety state that a 15 min brisk walk can help alleviate anxiety symptoms and exercise for a longer duration can be helpful as well .

Studies in science show that regular exercise works as well as medications for some to reduce anxiety symptoms and depression . A very vigorous exercise session can help alleviate anxiety and depressive symptoms in many people . Those that sit at home on a computer and watch a lot of tv without exercising have much higher rates of anxiety and depression . Many teens are addicted to technology and are not receiving the daily exercise needed . Setting limits on sedentary activities is important for your child or teens health .

Finding a health daily routine is helpful for reducing anxiety . Bedtime routines and daily routines will help reduce anxiety .

Look at ways to manage your stress and reduce stress in the home . Manage anger in the home .

Teens can decrease anxiety and stress by : eating regularly , avoiding excess caffeine , avoiding drugs and alcohol , learning healthy communication skills , relaxation exercises , decrease negative self talk, feel good about doing a good Job not looking for perfectionism , find positive supportive friends . By using these skills children and teenagers can build a confident foundation of skills to cope with life’s stress and anxiety .

Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and anxiety.

Exercise increases metabolism of adrenaline and thyroxin which
contribute to a heightened anxious state.

Exercise increases endorphins as well as serotonin that help to offset
depressed moods and anxiety.

Activity helps increase self esteem as well as many metabolic
activities .

Exercise is one great tool for stress relief and alleviation of anxiety.

Stress and anxiety and depression

It is important to take care of stress just as much as it is to take
care of ones physical health.

Emotional stress and anxiety and depression are areas that need
treatment just like a headache. If not treated they will manifest in:
a physical ailment, pain, mental health issues, anger, unhealthy
behaviors and much more.

It is important to balance exercise and diet and sleep and to take
time for self care daily. What are activities are you doing to manage
stress?

Depression anxiety placebo

A dummy pill made of sugar or milk has shown to do a better job at
relueving anxiety or depression in a number of studies.

The belief alone that the dummy pill or ( placebo ) is the real deal
unleashes the brain s belief that the patient will indeed feel better
and receive the expected relief.

According to research the bed side manner of the physician is the most
important component to a patients belief that the placebo will work.

The placebo has a neurological foundation. The sugar pill can activate
opioids that can relieve pain and modulate the heart rate and breathing.

Dopamine can be released via a placebo can help with: mood, motor
function, cognitive ability, relieve sleep issues, stomach aches, and
more.

Depression is the fourth leading cause of disability in the USA
according to The World Health Organization.

Those who are depressed have negative social interactions with family
members: fights etc.
